Summary:
The Vice President Finance, Americas is a critical role within Weber that will provide leadership across the Americas Region (U.S., Canada, and Latin America). This position is responsible for the Finance function of the Americas Region and will oversee the Finance team for the Region with a direct reporting line to the Chief Financial Official and a strong dotted line to the Americas President. This role will be responsible for developing short and long-term financial plans and reporting the financial results for the Americas Region. This individual will demonstrate the ability to work cross functionally with Sales, Supply Chain and Product Development and be a key leader responsible for driving profitable growth of the Region. In addition, this individual and their team will work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer and the accounting team on month end financial reporting activities, and as such, will require a strong understanding of US GAAP and its application in a complex business environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the finance lead and strategic advisor to the Americas President and business partner to the entire Americas leadership team with strong a strong linkage back to the Corporate Finance Team.
- Oversee the Region’s annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process. Develop financial models and analyze trends to prepare forecasts, budgets, and management reports.
- Ensure the integrity of the financial statements through the management of accounting systems and controls for the Americas Region. Monitor controls and ensure a strong control environment.
- Develop the Long-Range Strategic Plan in partnership with the Americas team.
- Regularly interact with Weber Leadership Team to report-out on the state of the business and work through business interventions to drive profitable growth.
- Develop, review, and approve sales programs and sales terms for the U.S. customers which include payment terms, sales allowances and discounts, rebate programs, and freight terms on shipments, etc. based on review of customer level P&Ls.
- Reviews commission programs to further enhance long-range goals – partner with sales to continually analyze business results, recommending changes when necessary.
- Assists in development of margin enhancement programs through focus on higher margin products and potential pricing adjustments.
- Plays a lead role of coordinating with the New Product Development teams on all new product initiatives, to ensure they are optimizing plans and programs for the business.
- Oversees the monthly close in conjunction with Corporate Finance and Accounting, including the closing of monthly regional accounts and discussion of monthly financial results.
- Prepares and presents monthly financial reports and analyses to executive leadership.
- Hires, manages, motivates, and develops staff to become effective team members within the department and Weber; prepares and conducts performance reviews; assists in the development of employee performance goals and standards.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance; MBA or advanced degree in related field preferred.
- 15+ years of related experience.
- Possesses a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and the application in a complex business environment.
- Strong skills in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting, with the ability to develop complex financial models.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders, including senior leaders and board members.
- Familiarity with financial software, including ERP systems, and financial reporting systems, preferably SAP, and SAC or other planning tools.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build a positive culture and engaged workforce while also driving to deliver results.
- Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen, possessing an ability to clearly articulate a plan and manage the necessary details to deliver the plan by leveraging resources across the organization.
