Summary
The Firmware Platform team contributes to all connected grills and accessories at Weber. The team is responsible for a wide range of activities that includes: hardware bring-up, software architecture, distributed systems, radio communications, sensor integration, and future feature development for embedded Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices.
Description
We are looking for an experienced engineer to contribute towards our expanding portfolio of Internet-connected grill and accessory devices. You will be responsible for delivering features for exciting new products as well as maintaining and improving existing software. You will collaborate with our deeply technical and cross-functional teams including: iOS, Android, Cloud, and Electronic engineers to deliver world-class products that enhance the grilling experience for our customers. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, seeks challenging problems, a desire to mentor others, and wants to build cutting-edge technology in the consumer electronics space. You must be comfortable balancing several projects at once, traversing across multiple levels of the software stack, and react quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of one or more modern programming languages. We primarily use C, Rust, and Python.
- Experience with CI/CD, JIRA, MS Office or similar tools.
- Proficient with Git and common Git workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent experience.
- Experience with embedded hardware ARM SoCs, RISC-V, MCUs, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
- Experience with protocols such as: SPI, I2C, UART, USB, DRAM.
- Experience in hardware-software integration: board bring-up, reading schematics and datasheets, and collaborating with electrical engineers.
- Experience debugging embedded systems, writing unit tests for such systems, and software profiling.
- Experience with laboratory equipment such as: frequency generators, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Experience with bare metal and RTOS architectural design.
- Proficiency in software architectural design patterns including low-level interfaces, asynchronous concurrency, layered architecture, modularity, scalability, and real-time constraints.
- Experience working on a globally distributed engineering team.
- EMI/EMC design methodology.

Base Salary Range:
Base Salary Range: $191,760.00 - $216,240.00
