Summary

The Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer is a member of the Information Security team and works closely with members of the broader IT Infrastructure team. This position is responsible for innovating and improving cybersecurity engineering design, analysis, and support for routers, firewalls, networks, and operating systems to protect Weber’s assets from cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Researches, designs, and implements cybersecurity solutions for organization systems and products that comply with all applicable security policies and standards.
  • Works with IT and internal and external business partners to ensure that security is factored in the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration process of hardware and software.
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations to improve network, system and application architectures.
  • Examines network, server, and application logs to determine trends and identify security incidents.
  • Evaluate an organization's computer networks, applications and data systems for vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor networks for security breaches, violations, or other related issues and develops solutions to defend against such issues.
  • Assists in the review and update of cyber security policies, architectures and standards.
  • Assists in responding to audits, penetration tests and vulnerability assessments.
  • Research the latest trends in IT and security.
  • Provide strategic risk guidance for IT projects, including the evaluation and recommendation of technical controls.
  • Develop, maintain and publish up-to-date information security policies, standards and guidelines. Oversee the approval, training, and dissemination of security policies and practices.
  • Manage security incidents and events to protect corporate IT assets, including intellectual property, regulated data and the company's reputation.
  • Monitor the external threat environment for emerging threats and advise relevant stakeholders on the appropriate courses of action.
  • Understands organizational mission, values, and goals and consistently applies this knowledge.

 

Qualifications

  • BS or MA in computer science, cybersecurity or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in cybersecurity, especially in a security engineering role.
  • Professional security management certification, such as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or other similar credentials, is desired.
  • Experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SAP landscape a plus.
  • Technical expertise in network security knowledge, to include VPN, firewall, network monitoring, intrusion detection, web server security and wireless security, cloud, OT, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
  • Proficiency with at least one scripting language (e.g., Perl, Python and PowerShell).
  • Practical experience with database security, content filtering, vulnerability scanning and anti-malware.
  • Understands business needs and has a commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt and efficient service to the business.
  • Strong knowledge of common vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques
  • Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one.
