Summary:

 

This position can be based in Palatine, IL or San Francisco, CA.  We’re looking for a self-driven, curious, creative, highly organized Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer who loves improving product quality through their knowledge of industry best practices and extensive experience. This role requires collaboration with team members across disciplines, an eye for detail, and critical thinking skills. You will focus on contributing to the development of automated Functional Integration tests and end-to-end tests through an open-source test framework for overall system testing. Your role will be crucial to preventing defects and enabling the team to deliver on-schedule, next-generation products with a top-notch consumer experience. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt approaches to writing and maintaining test suites
  • Develop and adapt validation strategies with combinations of manual, automated testing, and tools for all aspects of the Weber Connected Products and software stack, including user interface, (possibly) machine intelligence, and embedded frameworks
  • Assess and adapt to risk
  • File and triage defects, as well as validate fixes in software and some embedded hardware
  • Provide constructive feedback and recommendations
  • Enjoy cooking with our products

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Software QA Engineer role
  • Experience testing on IOS and Android (ideally Web, Desktop, and backend services)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience analyzing, regressing, and helping debug software issues
  • Experience designing and implementing tests for mobile app UI or embedded frameworks
  • Conceptual understanding of automated testing and the ability to write simple programs with assistance (Familiarity with Python is preferred) 
  • Familiarity with ticket managing tools like Jira, test case management tools like TestRail, and Behavior-Driven Development Methodology is a plus
  • Accessibility testing experience is a plus
