Summary:

The Program Manager is responsible for leading a broad cross-functional team in developing new products and technology. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious EPM to drive day-to-day program activities, build planning and execution, risk assessments, to meet overall program objectives for Weber connected projects.

 

Ideal candidates have a solid IOT and engineering background with relevant industry experience in the design of new products and a minimum of five years of experience as either a project manager or program manager.

 

They are also highly organized and self-motivated individuals with the ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve complex problems. They have solid interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to track dependencies between cross-functional disciplines and stakeholders that may not be part of the core product development team.

 

The Program Manager will create and maintain streamlined project schedules by redirecting pitfalls and developing an improved course of action. They will collaborate and facilitate communication across engineering and product development DRIs, operations, design, and our OEM/development vendors to meet ambitious cost, schedule, and quality goals. They will understand technical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key partners for decision-making.

 

Essential Functions: 

 

  • Experience with managing international suppliers and third party vendors
  • Experience with managing to a project and product budget
  • Proven track record of managing complex hardware and software product schedules and engineering builds down to the small details
  • Minimum of 5 years of project manager or program management experience in consumer electronics delivering products comprised of multiple materials and having high aesthetic quality
  • Proactive and highly self-motivated; Demonstrates critical thinking capabilities with strong attention to detail
  • Extensive experience with large cross functional teams; Experience working with Hardware and Software Product Design, Industrial Design, Operations, and System Architecture
  • Detailed knowledge of product development processes - concept & feasibility, development and launch
  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles and constant change; can stay focused and set direction when faced with ambiguity
  • Ability to anticipate functional direction and roadblocks; Prioritize parallel closure paths, and effectively distill and communicate relevant data to the appropriate functional teams, including leadership
  • Ability to travel internationally to support builds
  • Understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes and timelines

 

Education and or Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience is required
  • Direct experience leading cross-functional teams through the design, development, and implementation of product development projects is required
  • Engineering degree is required; BSME or BSEE strongly preferred
  • Direct experience in the design and manufacturing of consumer electronics and / or connected products is required
  • Experience in hardware development project lifecycles is required
  • Experience with software development project lifecycles is a strong benefit
  • Experience in mechatronics is a benefit
  • Experience utilizing Agile project management methodologies is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills are required

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Scrum Master certification is a plus
