Join the Weber team and our iconic grill innovation in Chicago’s backyard. We desire an experienced engineer who will champion quality in existing products and new product development (particularly electric grills and connected devices) in Palatine, Illinois.

To be successful you must bring a curious and pragmatic mind to support both the consumers’ experience with existing products and new product development. You will find yourself collaborating hand-in-hand with product management and R&D engineers on new product innovation, working closely with development laboratories, and across Weber’s geographic footprint.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include and not limited to:

  • Upholding the quality standards which earned Weber the reputation for best-in-class product reliability
  • Collaborating with product management and R&D to develop the next innovations in grill technology
  • Analyzing consumer warranty claims to identify product enhancements and inform product development
  • Improving testing and validation methodology to align with new product innovation
  • Applying lean six sigma methodology to deliver consistent incremental improvements

WORK HOURS & BENEFITS

  • Work schedule is during daytime working hours (specific schedule to be agreed upon)
  • Engagement with product innovation teams and new product development activities
  • Exposure across wide-range of manufacturing processes including fabrication, enameling, & assembly
  • Global collaboration with product and software/firmware designers

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Solid understanding of electrical theory and its application in consumer products
  • Working knowledge of programming software and firmware as part of an embedded system
  • Excellent data analytic skills using spreadsheets, dashboard software, and manipulating large data sets
  • Sound understanding of Six Sigma methodology and real-world application
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with quality systems including ISO, QS9000, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, or equivalent

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in electrical/electronic engineering from four-year college or university
  • Three or more years related experience
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Preferred: Proficiency in multiple programming languages through education, training, and/or work experience
  • Preferred: Experience with consumer product development and/or manufacturing
  • Preferred: Experience with programming languages including C, Python, Rust, Kotlin, Swift, and Bash
