Payroll Clerk

Role Overview:
This role is responsible for compiling timekeeping and payroll data for a weekly payroll. Individual must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management, human resources, and employees. Will be working with confidential and sensitive employee and company information, and ensure that all payroll activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations and laws. The position reports to the Senior Payroll Manager and Benefits Administrator.
- This is a hybrid role in Palatine, IL and expected to be fully onsite during training period
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance, and union dues.
- Record and maintain employees in ADP’s Workforce Now Payroll and Workforce Manager timekeeping systems.
- Process weekly payroll through the ADP payroll system.
- Reviews timekeeping and wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
- Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive changes.
- Updates payroll records affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, wage assignments, garnishments, child support, and loan payments for employees.
- Verify data concerning transfer, attendance, hours, and deductions of employees.
- Superior interpersonal and organizational skills and an independent, accountable, dependable performer.
- Communicates with Collection Agencies.
- Individual will assist in the transition from the Etime timekeeping system to ADP Workforce Manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent experience in ADP Workforce Now and Etime experience.
- Experience in ADP’s Workforce Manager timekeeping system is a plus.
- At least 2 years of payroll clerical experience
- Position requires the individual to be consistently at work and on time and meet weekly processing deadlines and ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent.
- Superior technical aptitude with excellent planning, detail orientation and organization.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize multiple projects, adjust to changing workflow and workload accordingly.
- Ability to work independently in an environment with many interruptions.
- Ability to grasp mathematical concepts and analyze data.
- Proficiency with Excel and other MS Office applications.
Compensation:
$27.31- $30.80
