Summary: 

The Packaging Production Artist transforms approved creative concepts into precise, print‑ready mechanicals that meet all technical, regulatory, and manufacturing specifications for Weber Blackstone’s Global Packaging. They ensure accuracy in die lines, typography, color builds, and imagery while troubleshooting production challenges and preparing final files for various packaging formats. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and close collaboration with designers, vendors, and production teams to ensure flawless execution at print. 

 

 This is a hybrid role in the Palatine, IL office. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Build, update, and finalize mechanicals for packaging across multiple formats. 

  • Ensure all dielines, artwork placement, bleed, trim, and safety zones are set correctly. 

  • Apply regulatory updates, product changes, barcodes, and legal requirements with precision. 

  • Manage high-volume versioning efficiently with strong attention to detail. 

  • Package and deliver files with complete asset integrity (fonts, links, images). 

  • Work closely with Product management, Legal, Regulatory, Packaging Engineering, and Purchasing. 

  • Communicate proactively about timing, risks, or file concerns. 

  • Collaborate with translation partners to implement multi-lingual content accurately. 

  • Create accurate 3D renderings and mock-ups of final packaging to support marketing needs. 

 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field 

  • 1-3 years of experience in print production (including internships) 

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office 

  • Knowledge of 3D programs a plus 

  • Knowledge of WorkFront a plus 

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deliverables on tight timelines 

  • Understanding of print production, material constraints, and file set up 

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally

Salary Range: $66,000- 75,000
