Summary:

The Omnichannel copywriter is accountable for creating stylistically compelling product marketing copy that helps consumers choose and use Weber products. 

In this role, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to craft a variety of creative assets for Global New Product launch toolkits and US Marketing campaigns to drive sales of Weber products and build the Weber brand. Projects cover a range of consumer touchpoints and may include but are not limited to product and feature naming, Weber.com PDP and landing pages, A+ content, packaging, in-store POP, promotional campaigns, how-to content, email, paid and organic social posts, retailer sell-in support, tradeshow materials, FAQ and more. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Become a master of Weber product features and benefits, the grilling experience, the retail and competitive landscape, the consumer shopping journey, the Weber brand style guide and brand best practices to support global new product launches and US   marketing campaigns across a wide range of media and platforms with focus on Weber-owned digital, social, video and in-store experiences 
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to develop Master Copy Docs that succinctly summarize key product claims and selling points that feed digital commerce experiences at Weber.com and Retailer.coms and serve as the foundation for consistent product storytelling across a range of packaging, print and digital media  
  • Adapt and edit Master Copy for packaging, POP and other communications 
  • Generate product and feature names that differentiate products and resonate with consumers 
  • Partner with designers and art directors throughout the creative development process to ensure seamless integration of verbal and visual communication, with attention to message hierarchy, emphasis, and story flow 
  • Ensure all creative executions align with brand guideline, are stylistically consistent, and proofread for accuracy 
  • Package and present creative solutions for internal meetings in partnership with designer (such as layouts with copy in place, social posts, video scripts) in well-organized decks supported with thoughtful rationale  
  • Adhere to timelines and expectations for interim and final creative deliverables as established by Creative Project Manager and Group Creative Director  
  • Consult with internal legal team as necessary for usage and trademark clearance of naming and claims 
  • Synthesize feedback from multiple stakeholders including Product, Channel and Marketing Stakeholders; Digital Strategists; Group Creative Director and others, rethinking creative approach as needed and providing fresh solutions to challenges 
  • Utilize project management system (Workfront) consistently for timely sharing of work and team communication 
  • Communicate with Global Creative Project Manager and Group Creative Director on a timely and consistent basis and engage in relevant status meetings to prioritize and manage timelines and deliverables 
  • Contribute to the culture of the in-house creative team, promoting a spirit of positivity and teamwork 
  • Demonstrate drive for continuous learning and growth, engaging in the latest digital technologies and platforms, social media best practices, retail innovation, culinary and lifestyle trends to raise the level of creative work and build the Weber brand 

 

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Copywriting, or related field 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office, working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma for collaborative purposes  
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in omni-channel creative development including writing product descriptions, retail/e-commerce marketing,  POP,  digital ad units, trade show support and social media posts 
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a copywriting role at a shopper/digital marketing agency or in-house creative team at a leading consumer brand or retailer 

 

Skills: 

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into simple, easy-to-understand marketing content with human tone of voice 
  • Strong understanding of marketing landscape with ability to adapt the content, style, and length appropriately for relevancy and impact at each touchpoint  
  • High attention to detail, skilled at building well-prepared and proofed copy docs, concept write-ups and presentations 
  • Articulate communicator, with ability to express ideas confidently, supported with compelling strategic rationale 
  • Organized, efficient and agile – able to meet deadlines with ease while working on multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can flex to deliver a wide scope of creative asks   
  • Resourceful and self-motivated, proactively seeks out information and fresh sources of inspiration to optimize creative output 
  • Collaborative, open-minded to and inspired by ideas and feedback from others and respectfully shares theirs in return throughout the iterative creative development process 
  • Curious learner, eager to take on new challenges, implement new approaches and push beyond comfort zone 
  • Savvy about marketing, industry, lifestyle and cultural trends – stays on top of what’s happening in social media, influencers, fashion, music, food, sports and more  
  • Interest in grilling and cooking or prior food or lifestyle brand marketing a plus!
