Job Description:  IT Project Manager – SAP & Connected Systems

 

This position is responsible for managing projects for the IT organization to ensure the various projects meet organization goals and requirements, focused on SAP & Connected systems. The leader will enhance and follow the project’s PMO processes and policies, and work with the steering teams, other PMO leadership teams, including both internal and external parties to define, prioritize, and develop projects and overall program items. The IT Project Manager reports directly to Sr Director, IT PMO and is responsible for periodic project and program updates to IT leadership team, CIO, and steering teams, as well as other committees.

 


Key Responsibilities

 

  • Plan and manage medium to large scale IT projects involving multiple systems and business teams
  • Track progress and prepare/update project status reports for all active projects
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and implement more efficient technologies and business processes
  • Hold team members accountable to deliver project tasks on time; find creative ways to stay on-schedule and make appropriate business-based trade-offs
  • Assess project risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies to apply where applicable
  • Organize, lead, attend and document relevant project meetings
  • Gather and prepare necessary materials for all meetings
  • Work with various project management and collaboration tools to apply appropriately based on project size/scope
  • Develop technical documentation including, but not limited to customer journeys, user stories, data-flow diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams, and so forth
  • Improves the efficiency and effectiveness of Weber’s technology platforms including influencing and establishing best processes through solid design, decisions, and tools
  • Participates in setting goals, priorities, strategies and initiatives across multiple platforms
  • Develops and manages the budget and tracks spending of the program by key vendor and category of expense
  • Be flexible to step into other IT areas of responsibility as needed


 

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required
  • 15+ years of progressive IT project management experience delivering sustainable results; Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence outcomes
  • Strong understanding / experience with Project Management Tools, general IT processes and requirements knowledge preferred.
  • Strong understanding / experience with SAP, and managing projects, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Be a leader with exceptional capabilities in process optimization
  • Ability to manage tasks using different project management methodologies as appropriate (agile, waterfall, etc)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex information clearly
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented individual who is capable of self-managing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think “process” and “best practice” as well as a solid understanding of end to end processes, and ability to question respectfully current process
  • Strategic thinking and sound knowledge of the respective business processes (independent of the system aspect)
  • Highly motivated self-starter who is innovative and quick to learn with a strong customer service orientation
  • Experience working with local and remote team members
  • On-call availability for project go-live and off-shift support
  • Flexibility in schedule to align with other program resources across the globe
  • Flexibility to travel as needed or deemed necessary (domestic & international)
  • Flexibility in shifting to other project management needs
