Summary

 

The Domestic Logistics Supervisor is directly involved in the decision-making process across all US domestic shipping locations including inbound, outbound, and interfacility. Responsibilities include prioritization of the daily order flow, allocation of finished goods and carrier routing selection. In addition, the supervisor trains and assists others on SAP processes/trouble-shooting.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee the timely and cost-efficient US domestic outbound shipments of customer orders while meeting all specific customer documentation & label requirements
  • Allocate stock and manage backorders based on the direction given by the Customer Fulfillment and Sales leadership teams
  • Maintain Collect customer routing instructions and accurate account notes to meet retailer OTIF (on-time in full) and service levels per sales agreements
  • Analyze all transportation options for optimal Prepaid carrier selection and cost savings opportunities (multi-stops, intermodal, FTL vs LTL, order consolidation, etc) both inbound and outbound
  • Manage the interfacility fleet and equipment pool to maintain product flow to manufacturing and distribution centers in order to drive maximum order fulfillment and production schedule alignment
  • Monitor carrier service performance monthly and develop action plans accordingly to address failures
  • Provide training and guidance to team members and collaborate with other supervisors/managers within supply chain to ensure customer fulfillment targets are reached
  • Assist to establish, communicate, and enforce new policies and procedures related to Logistics
  • Take proactive measures to remedy customer issues with internal Weber teams, Warehouse personnel and all Weber LSP’s
  • Provide support and direction on all system and process requirements within the SAP TM module
  • Possess a strong knowledge of SAP, Transportation Management, and domestic freight management
  • Set annual department goals aligned with corporate targets and initiatives; formally review and evaluate annual employee performance and growth plans against goals
  • Monitor and approve team’s weekly timecards and attendance in accordance with HR policies, ensuring adequate business coverage on a daily basis

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Must be able to mentor and supervise delivery logistics personnel

 

Education and/or Experience

 

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

 

Other Skills and Abilities

 

  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Able to lead, manage and support multiple projects and employees
  • SAP experience required
