Summary

We are seeking an experienced DevOps engineer who can streamline the software development lifecycle to improve developer productivity, delivery speed, and code quality. They will work closely with development team to identify and resolve pain points and inefficiencies in delivery workflows. Key responsibilities include automating delivery processes and maintaining the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline. This role will have an opportunity to learn data integration tools.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include the following, and other duties may be assigned):

  • Streamline the software development lifecycle by identifying pain points and productivity barriers and determining ways to resolve them. 
  • Collaborate closely with development team to understand their current build and release processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide guidance to development teams to improve performance and operability of the solutions they develop.
  • Build and maintain the CI/CD pipelines to improve developer productivity, agility and code quality.
  • Develop and continuously improve automation solutions to enable teams to build and deploy code efficiently and consistently.
  • Build automated testing to reduce manual effort and improve product quality.
  • Ensure that systems meet business and customer needs for reliability and availability.
  • Monitor and manage application performance and service quality, including initial troubleshooting, identification of root cases and issue resolution. Implement and improve alerting.
  • Work closely with development team to analyze and troubleshoot complex production issues. 
  • Prepare design and implementation documentation.
  • Promote DevOps principles and culture across the development teams.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant DevOps experience
  • 3+ years experience in software engineering
  • Solid experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Glue, Lambda, and RDS
  • Proven Experience and proficiency in developing CI/CD workflows using Git and GitHub
  • Proficiency in one or more coding languages like Python, Java
  • Experience with development platforms like Snowflake, AWS, Azure
  • Strong automation scripting skills and practical experience with AWS, especially using Lambda
  • Experience with using Infrastructure as Code like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL
  • Experience in configuration management, test-driven development and release management
  • Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with agile development and strong understanding of DevOps principles
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information, and to draw conclusions
  • Flexibility, adaptability and desire to learn new languages and technologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with incident management tools like ServiceNow, Jira
