Welder

Summary: Fabricates designs and assembles metal products such as worktables, racks, fixed ladders, catwalks, personnel bridges, etc. Assist production/building maintenance groups with welding/fabrication repairs to production/building equipment. Support other internal customers directly through the service request program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.

· Hands-on interaction with customer(s)

· Development of project budget

· Development of design meeting customer requests

· Operates machines such as shears, cutoff saws, brakes, punch press, form roll and drill press, to cut and shape components to specified dimensions

· Fits and assembles components

· Operates machine such as arbor presses, riveting press, brazing machine and resistance welding machines, MIG welding machine, TIG welding machine, ARC welding machine and or gas welding to complete assembly

· Welds, rivets, bolts, joins components together

Qualifications: to perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Basic computer preference to Windows XP and any CMMS work order system

Knowledge and 5 yrs. Experience with the use of all related hand/power tools utilized in the metal fabrication industry.

Competencies

To perform this job successfully individual must be able to think and react quickly to changing demands of everyday production. Individual will need to analyze complex problems in the building and fabrication projects.

Education and/or Experience:

Equal to 5 years in the maintenance fabrication field and required Welding certificates.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess one or more state (or equal) tags for welding (MIG, TIG, MRC, gas)

Certified Welder Certificate
