Summary
Supervise employees to ensure timely, efficient and safe work load completion. Coordinate outbound and inbound staging for export, domestic and LTL shipments. Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities. Manage receiving of all inbounds. Oversee picking, staging and loading of shipments. Coordinate put-away of inbound product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned
- Direct and manage labor by assigning workload, evaluation, training, and monitoring employee’s performance, accuracy, efficiency, quality, and adherence to procedures.
- Monitor flow in department, adjust workload accordingly and suggest changes as needed to ensure efficiencies and accuracy of work
- Pre-shift duties include attendance, work assignments, and determine requirements to meet shipping/receiving needs based on schedule and workers.
- Daily shift meetings to inform staff of workload, expectations, safety, and overtime as needed
- Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel or outside service for repairs as needed
- Follow and enforce company and safety policies and regulations (PPE, Harassment, etc) and investigate employee issues and recommend resolution
- Analyzes open orders to estimate worker hours and create working schedules that meet both internal/external needs
- Ensure orders are shipped on time
- Proficient in SAP or equivalent WMS system
- Ensure inbounds are unloaded properly and put away on time and accurately
- Organize paperwork to load domestic and international orders
- Supervise domestic and international truck schedule
- Make sure seal is on loads of finish product leaving the warehouse
- Verify picking orders accuracy
- Determine amount of freight that will be staged in each lane of LTL
- Ensure that late trucks are loaded correctly.
- Coordinate with manufacturing to correct any production errors.
- Manage outbound shipment schedule
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet schedules
- Perform random cycle counts on receipts and investigate any computer/paperwork discrepancies
- Communicate with all levels and departments as required to ensure customer deadlines are met
- Active with troubleshooting and continual improvement of processes
- Participate in Cycle counts and Physical inventory as required
- Other duties as assigned

- SAP knowledge/experience
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Union shop experience preferred. Lean manufacturing Green-Belt preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet software and SAP.
