The Rework Technician will ensure that the product reworked/repaired is in accordance with international and Weber quality standards. Ensures reworked/repaired product adheres to various types of mechanical, chemical and electrical specifications.  Assist in the assessment of questionable parts and/or products which are deemed for restocking or employee sales.   Collaborate, communicate and resolve rework related problems as they occur.  Perform internal audit and inspection of questionable products and ensures they adhered to the Weber, Industry and Regulatory requirements. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned


  • Audits and Inspect a wide variety of parts or units for dimensions, missing operations or components, quality of finish, and surface or contour imperfections
  • Determine acceptability within tolerances
  • Understand and follow Quality Standards and Procedures
  • Work on diverse jobs and refer all critical quality issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Collect and interpret data.  Using SAP, Excel, and other databases as required.
  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of manufacturing (i.e. R&D, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Vendors/Suppliers, etc on all quality related issues)

Supervisory Responsibilities


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Education and/or Experience


High school degree or equivalent, plus specialized quality related training and or a minimum of 2 years related technical experience.


Language Skills      


Ability to read and interpret documents such as blue prints, continuous improvement forms, procedures and work instructions. Ability to read and write reports procedures and work instructions.


Mathematical Skills


Basic math skills through decimals and fraction (add, subtract, multiply and divide). 


Reasoning Ability


Must be able to determine acceptability within the specifications; must be able to read and understand established control documents.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations


Other Skills and Abilities


  • Blueprints Reading
  • Knowledge and use precision measuring instruments such and Calipers, Micrometers, Height gages, Go/No Go gages
  • Posses good written and verbal communication skills and be able to write reports with detailed explanations of quality issues.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Exercise good judgment
  • Ability to effectively communicate written and verbal
  • Understand and follow Quality concept standards and procedures
  • Knowledge and use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers and height gages
  • Interpret/use engineering drawings and product masters
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel and Email)
