How will you impact the team-

 

As our Production Manager you will provide tactical leadership and further develop our team.  To be successful you must lead the operational plan of people, equipment, and material.  As barriers arise you will steer the team through critical real- time decision which fulfill the plan’s intent while respecting our shared safety and quality expectations.

 

What will you do-

  • Develop a safety culture where employees’ wellbeing is valued, respected, and prioritized
  • Uphold the quality standards which earned Weber the reputation for best-in-class product reliability
  • Efficiently managing people and machine requirements to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders
  • Coaching supervisors, cell leads and manufacturing technicians to uphold Weber’s values, culture, and performance expectations
  • Facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly labor planning activities which align with production planning
  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards
  • Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Production Superintendent for action
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department staff
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Responsible for all payroll activity utilizing ADP and Success Factors database- Approving vacation, union and non-union personnel via ADP and Success Factors, ensuring that all hourly staff team members punched in and out
  • Approves all Mercury commerce supply orders
  • Works directly with the Engineering team with projects and ensures cost effective methods
  • Provides effective and positive coaching to direct reports
  • Works with safety, maintenance, and the engineering team to find solutions to incidents that have occurred within the department
  • Completes reports for incidents that have occurred within the department and provides to safety
  • Responsible for line designs and Engineer changes and SAP 4
  • Greets all new non-union hires
  • Serves as a back up if a supervisor is out while still managing their daily tasks
  • Ability to read and use RF Scanner and training current and new thing members

 

Tools needed to thrive-

  • Five or more years related experience
  • Three or more years production supervisor or manager experience
  • SAP (or equivalent MRP/ERP system)
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in business or engineering from four-year college or university
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in business administration
  • Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience with managing up to 100+ employees in a department
  • Provide meaningful performance feedback which enables employee growth
  • Firm understanding how to efficiently plan labor based on production plan
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Preferred: English and Spanish bilingual
