Lead Quality activities that identify root cause and drive effective corrective action with various functional groups across the organization including R&D, Fabrication, Production, and Distribution targeted to improve the consumer experience as measured by warranty claim performance. Ensures compliance to the Weber Quality System and applicable industry standards (locally and internationally) related to the product/area of responsibility.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage product quality Global Claim Rate and 1st year Claim Rate continuous improvement activities.

  • Leads cross-functional teams to identify problem, root cause, containment, corrective and preventive actions associated with customer and consumer claims, using Structured Problem-Solving methodology and tools.

  • Design and execute Test-Plans to verify root cause and effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Support and work with Consumer Care to address the Service Claims to identify root cause and corrective/preventive actions in product design, manufacturing and supply chain.

  • Review and write product reliability requirements and test methods to ensure product alignment with application, warranty and consumer expectations.

  • Develop product and sub-assembly test procedures and support evaluation tests, capability studies, quality audits, data reviews, and other engineering evaluations utilizing Six Sigma methodology.

  • Generate PPAP test plans and coordinate with other Quality Assurance functions to ensure PPAPs are completed on time for assigned product.

  • Participate and facilitate the FMEA within the program/project team and ensures the implementation and sustainability of the detection and prevention actions.

  • Interacts with customers, suppliers, designers, and others both internally and externally to assist in resolving design, development, production, manufacturing, and part acceptance issues.

  • Provides technical consultation to management and other involved team members by leading technical project team discussions.


  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline

  • 5+ years working in Quality roles within design, product, supplier, test or manufacturing

  • Experience in problem solving techniques including root cause identification and corrective action implementation

  • Experience with FMEA, Control Plan and PPAP (Quality Core tools)

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred
