Summary

 

Manages the shipping & receiving clerical office activities to achieve maximum productivity.  Develops procedures and policy for both offices including individual staff responsibilities as well as team responsibilities.  Fosters teamwork by encouraging collaboration, sense of shared responsibility and professionalism. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned

 

  • Develop and maintain training manual (step by step) for all system processes, and trains all clerical staff on these procedures
  • Insures timely and accurate paperwork processing in both Shipping & Receiving offices
  • Supervises all clerical staffs daily activities
  • Work with Inventory Control and warehouse management to ensure accuracy of inventory, order picking/staging, and product put away
  • Professional communication with all levels internal and external customers & staff
  • Prepare reports on time as required
  • Provide weekly updates to the Warehouse Director on receipts/shipments
  • Monthly report on SAP (SME responsibilities), including changes, updates, implementations, training
  • Follow company policy and procedures and consistently apply with all clerical employees
  • Investigate employee issues/concerns and recommend resolutions
  • Maintain time records, performance reviews, and administers corrective action/feedback as required
  • Responsible for interviewing, selection, hiring & training of all office clerical staff members
  • Active in the effective continuous improvement of processes and procedures in the shipping & receiving clerical function
  • Adhere and enforce Safety policy
  • Tracks time and attendance for employees to assure accurate pay

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

Directly supervises employees in the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Education and/or Experience

 

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Language Skills      

 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ERP software and basic MS Office suite.
