Summary
EHS Manager is responsible for managing, developing, supporting and implementing the environmental and safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy and accident free work environment. Ensures the overall global locations are compliant in all areas of environmental, health and safety requirements. Develop and implement activities and leads the coordinators in the facilities and other areas of the business to evaluate and control safety hazards. Responsible for the overall security of the USA locations. Organize and oversee all security operations and develop and implementation of policies and procedures to maintain security standards. This is accomplished by the EHS Manager or through subordinates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned
- Plans and implements environmental and safety policies and procedures in compliance with Weber and local, state and federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Creates, plans, implements and schedules programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, including new hires safety orientation.
- Responsible for reviewing/investigating incident reports and evidence to ensure prompt, complete and accurate information is verified. Ensure root cause analysis and corrective action plans have been documented and completed within a timely period.
- Enforces use of safety equipment through supply chain managers and leaders
- Develops and monitors emergency action plans.
- Participates in the management of workers compensation.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards.
- Oversees security team in US sites
- Assists in preparation of safety and health budget.
- Track and compile data used for preparing the Corporate Safety metrics report and results.
- Maintain accurate records for all environmental programs and OSHA.
- Leads Global Safety Committee meetings and activities to ensure development of EHS programs
Education and Experience Requirements
- A Bachelor degree in safety/environmental studies or supply chain related field is required or an equivalent of 5 years’ experience leading EHS programs. Experience in ergonomics, behavioral safety and waste water reporting are preferred.
- A track record of moving away from the status quo mode and empowering employees to make change and seize opportunities to improve lost time injuries and reducing incidents over time.
- Previous experience and the willingness and ability to mentor/coach his/her leadership team in the areas of executive presence, presentation skills, and their ability to train and develop their direct reports
- A successful track record leading EHS programs with transformation and improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated success in developing a strategic planning process for EHS programs

- OSHA certifications preferred
- EPA training as required by specific position or building.
