How will you impact the team-
The line material coordinator’s primary role is to ensure optimal material flow to and from the production floor, reduce risk of supply, and maintain inventory integrity in the Production Supply Area (PSA). The line material coordinator will use a combination of SAP and physical assessment of the assigned PSA to determine necessary actions to prevent stoppage and or delays in the manufacturing process as well as disposition of excess inventory.
What will you do-
- Monitor the stock in production supply areas (PSA) and ensure enough components are always on the line to support production
- Review SAP EWM warehouse tasks to ensure component replenishment is triggered accurately
- Identify whether the system did not create a task for any required materials
- Re-prioritize tasks for materials requiring replenishment immediately
- Identify tasks which should be canceled and troubleshoot for root cause of incorrect proposal
- Create emergency ad-hoc tasks to replenish materials immediately to prevent line stoppages
- Initiate root cause analysis and corrective action in collaboration with the respective support (production and planning super users)
- Make recommendations on changes to minimum stock values and replenishment quantities based on observations
- Validate replenishment tasks are being routed to the correct driver queues and work with the warehouse team if there are any issues
- Evaluate stock in the PSA vs. the production schedule to initiate clearing of components from the PSA which are no longer needed
- Report any discrepancies between physical stock in production supply areas (PSA) and inventory shown in SAP
- Monitor the completion of production reporting to ensure timely component consumption
- Utilize a scale to count materials
- Adhere to safety policies
Tools needed to thrive-
- Proficient at using Windows based PCs and comfortable executing transactions in SAP
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and good communication skills to coordinate issue resolution
- Ability to prioritize tasks and escalate to resolve issues in a timely manner
- Strong understanding of supporting master data (PSA STAGE table, packaging specifications, etc.)
- Previous work experience on the line(s) they will be supporting (preferred, but not required)
- Experience with utilizing a manual pallet jack
- Must be able to lift boxes up to 30 lbs.
