To be successful you must bring a detail-oriented and pragmatic mind to support the testing of existing products and new products in development. You will find yourself collaborating with Production, Quality, R&D teams as you ensure compliance to all quality requirements.

The QA Lab team is made up of individuals that work together and independently to complete work orders with minimal supervision.  Together the lab technicians maintain the lab facilities and processes while continually improving our capability, and efficiency.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include and not limited to:

  • Upholding the quality standards which earned Weber the reputation for best-in-class product reliability
  • Conducting physical, chemical, corrosion, thermal, or performance tests on components as required
  • Performing dimensional layout, 1st Piece, & In process Inspections as required.
  • Documenting and providing timely feedback at the completion of inspection work orders.  Communicating test results clearly and informatively; presenting numerical data effectively
  • Improving testing and validation methodology to align with new product innovation
  • Applying lean six sigma, 5S, and other methods to deliver consistent incremental improvements to test and lab processes.  Leading or supporting 1 improvement project annually.
  • Ensuring compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (ISO)
  • Performing scheduled/routine upkeep on lab & lab equipment
  • Supporting yearly calibration activities in the plant

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic and team-oriented work environment.
  • Works independently with minimal daily supervision.
  • Ability to read & interpret prints
  • Well versed in various measurement and test instruments such as, Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Height gages, Profilometer Force testers, Surface plates, optical comparators
  • Detail oriented with good analytic skills with common sense approach to problem solving.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills with good understanding of math.
  • Ability to objectively review quality data.
  • Proficient in MS Office

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate Degree or 5-8 years of experience
  • Preferred: Experience with consumer product development and/or manufacturing
  • Preferred: Experience with quality systems including ISO, QS9000, PPAP, or Control Plans
