Responsible for overseeing production line electrical safety testing, functional testing, and reprogramming of components and assemblies. Troubleshoot the root cause of test failures and determine the action plan required to rework failed units.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to handle responsibilities effectively and interface with internal and external customers.

  • Direct the development and implementation of activities in production areas to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives.

  • Ability to adjust to the changing needs of a fast-pace manufacturing environment.

  • Keep track of tools and equipment that are needed to assemble the unit, and keep tools and equipment in good working order.

  • Ensure all preventative maintenance is performed on all equipment and tools as required.

  • Report production, scrap, rework, maintenance orders, engineering supports order, troubleshooting forms, etc.

  • Active with troubleshooting and continual improvement of process.

  • Foster employee empowerment and lean thinking

  • Oversee electrical safety testing cell & ensure UL required procedures are followed

  • Oversee functional testing cells & ensure procedures are followed by test operators

  • Interpret and record test results

  • Troubleshoot root cause of test failures & determine action plan to rework failed units

  • Coordinates with Quality Assurance to determine the root cause of electrical component failures

  • Train test operators on proper procedure

  • Assist in overseeing the programming/flashing cell & ensure procedures are followed

  • Follow safety procedures, ensure proper PPE and static protection equipment is used correctly on the assembly line & test area

  •  Relieve test operators when necessary to maintain production rate

  •  Maintain equipment in excellent working order including performing preventative maintenance and repairs that are not done by plant maintenance staff

  • Work with Maintenance to resolve problems with production line equipment

  • Communicates with all Supervisors, Manager and employees from other departments to resolve production issues in a timely manner

  • Monitor quality of production by self-check, successive checks and comparison to quality standards

  • Active with troubleshooting and continual improvement of the process

  • Filling out SPC charts as needed

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment



  • Outstanding deductive reasoning skills required to investigate problems, isolate issues, and solve them

  • Working knowledge of electrical assembly & proper handling/operating techniques for sensitive electronic equipment

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and necessary troubleshooting equipment

  • Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings

  • Able to utilize hand tools and power tools

  • Is able to develop creative solutions that can provide an advancement in safety, efficiency, productivity, and cost for their area

  • Team player mentality with the ability to coordinate efforts within the assembly/test process

  • 3 years’ of electrical assembly & troubleshooting experience And/Or:

  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering Technology

  • Completion of an Electrician Apprenticeship

  • Electrician degree from a technical college

  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred.

  • High School Diploma

  •  Hands on approach to problem resolution

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office & PC operation

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing a plus

  • General knowledge of PLC’s controls, sensors and fixtures a plus
