Processing all paperwork and documents pertaining to the shipping department.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Schedule pickups with carriers in appropriate time frames
  • Release Transfer Orders once they are complete
  • Direct trailers to the correct dock door.
  • Maintain/file all paperwork
  • Contact carriers regarding appointments
  • Organize export orders to ensure timely shipment
  • Communicate instructions for loading with truck drivers
  • Communicate with all departments for actual/potential problems
  • Receive material into SAP - Inventory 
  • Scanning of Receipt Documents

Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.

Education and/or Experience

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills  

 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability

 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
